Inspiration Monday | H.A.U.S of Kolbee Photoshoot

So, Yours Truly, has been teasing back and forth with a prospect of a photoshoot here and there. And after some talking with the H.A.U.S. , the royal “we” decided that “we” should just cut to the chase. So here it is! A small taste of the coming projects we have for you. This photoshoot was planned on the idea of reuse, recycle, RECLAIM! The articles of clothing seen here were shot on a budget provided by the H.A.U.S of Kolbee of only $50 in total; in hopes that our thrifty thinking will inspire the aspiring artists/designers out there, there is “diva on a dime” and “glamour in the ghetto”. We want to prove fierce fashion is accessible to everyone. We decided to go in the direction of classique diva’s or artists that harken back to the days of Old Hollywood, knowing well, that this fierce formula for fashion combination can do no wrong. We are talking about the bombshells with the rouge lip like Marilyn Monroe. The artists that homage this root-role-model: Madonna, Lana Del Rey, even cartoon characters like Jessica Rabbit. With a dash of the mysticality of a fairytale, Snow White, to pull the story all together. Our Model, Ka Lo, has on a brick red lipstick by Lancome. Her eyes are contoured with modern bronzes and flashes of white near the tearduct, middle of the lid, as well as the brow bone. Try even a striped styled bronzer as a shadow palate to get dual uses. For a good affordable industrial strength liquid liner, try GOSH Extreme Artist Liner, $15 at Shoppers Drug Mart. Marilyn also had a trick of diffusing a bit more ash brown coloured shadow on the outer lower corner parts of her eyes, as if her lashes casted that intense shadow, giving her eyes that “sensual sleepy” look. That my personal doctor prescribed way to much Valium but I have the best makeup artist Hollywood can offer so I look incredibly fabulous. If you notice, the H.A.U.S. also created a pleated ‘Mullet’ styled layered organza skirt that we presented in 3 ways. All of this, because us momma’s in East Van are not cheap but fabulously frugal, is incredibly affordable and accessible. We hope we have inspired you in some way.
