Tangerine Tango
By Paula Molina
The new year is in full swing; bright, eye popping colours are making their way out of the grey, dreary winter blues. One colour you MUST make a note of is Tangerine Tango; a must-have star staple in your wardrobe.
Orange it’s an attractive and seductive color and at the same time maintains a touch of sophistication, making a balance between red and yellow. It is a trend in all its shades, from a bright orange to a softer toned pastel, tangerine will certainly be the lord and master of Fall/Winter runways. As supplements or accessories, this trend will surely be your best bet for color blocking, and is great for matching with bright colours.

Reputable designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen, among many others have failed to resist it and have added this vibrant color to their collections. Balenciaga used it in their futuristic looks, while Gucci mixed it with black and white to create a very chic and very elegant look. Donna Karan couldn’t resist to combine the colour with monochrome tones or playing it up with alternative shades of orange.
We can find many pieces of this hue in stores. From shoes and accessories to dresses and blazers, you just need to adapt tangerine into your wardrobe. So, if you decide to stand out from the crowd, combine your tangerine with a neutral like beige or glam it up with gold and ocher. Feeling playful lately? Be creative and pair it with purple, fuchsia and blue.
So now you know fashionistas, do not doubt for a moment and get your tangerine piece of garment; an indispensable choice of colour to be up-to-date with this year’s hottest trends!
